Who was Charles Spurgeon?
Born in 1834 Charles Haddon Spurgeon was an English minister who preached the word of God who appealed to Christians of all denominations. Much like Billy Graham in the 20th century, Spurgeon was a highly influential Christian preacher who upheld the teachings of the Bible. With his unique style of prose, he captivated people - often preaching to groups with over 10,000 in attendance. Toward the end of his life he suffered from ill health and passed away in January 1892. However, his legacy continues through his writings and recorded teachings.
